Elias Mageto is a former research associate at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF); A former financial analyst at a US Government agency focused on security cooperation; Founder of the African Scholar Initiative (a social enterprise dedicated to helping African students to prepare for college and succeed in their careers), and curator of The Africa Index initiative (an essential handbook series of key U.S. -- Africa stakeholders which serves to develop and sustain links between organizations and influencers of the African Affairs community). Recently, Elias made the pivotal decision to culminate his ten-year career with the U.S. Government with the goal of elevating his innate passion for Africa awareness, education and philanthropy to new heights. During his tenure with the U.S. Government, Elias Mageto served as a financial analyst and protocol officer at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA) and National Defense University (NDU). Prior to that, Elias served in multiple roles over a three-year period at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which supports a cohort of African American members of Congress and focuses on leadership education, public health and economic development. While at the Foundation, Mr. Mageto played a significant role in successfully implementing key sections of the organization's five-year strategic plan. Elias helped launch the African Globalism Initiative, AVOICE (an online directory chronicling the history of African Americans in Congress) and Policy Perspectives - The official e-mail newsletter of the Center for Policy Analysis and Research (CPAR) which was highly regarded as the Foundation's "think tank". Prior to his invested involvement in African affairs, Mr. Mageto held additional roles that were key to his professional development, including various administrative positions at the World Bank in Washington, and a position as a contract specialist with the MONY Group. Elias Mageto earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and is currently pursuing a Master of Distance Education and E- Learning, with specialization in Distance Education Policy and Management at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC). He is also the proud creator of several online Pan African brands, including politicsafrica.com and politicskenya.com.
