In a world where people or states cannot always perceive things in the exact same way, conflict is inevitable. It is thus imperative that a system to prevent and resolve conflicts be erected at all levels. In Africa, the AU-Peace and Security Council (AU-PSC) is responsible for this. This book explains the Role of African Union-Peace and security council in continental peace, security, and conflict resolution under various headings. Divided into 5 parts, it involves an introductory part of conflict and conflict resolution and a brief review of its literature, an overview of the African Union with a special focus put on the Peace and Security Council as the main organ responsible for conflict resolution on the continent. The Responsibility to protect is discussed in relation to the subject. The book wraps up with a conclusion and recommendations to be considered in promoting continental peace and security in Africa.
