By titling this work "The agony of YA", my objective is to evoke the process of advanced decay of our society. It is a question of drawing the attention of the Malian social actors on the importance of our traditional social system: to recall the old ones, to question the decision makers and to inform the new generations on what was the base of our social organization. This book is divided into three parts. The first part situates the reader in relation to the social and historical context of "YA" and introduces "YA" in all its dimensions and applications. A second part illustrates the values carried by "YA". A third part draws the attention of young people to the threats to "YA" in a monetarized and digitized world where social networks are occupying all terrains. This book is a call to action, to initiate a process of awareness of the young generation in the grip of a serious dilemma: to take up the challenge of reconciling the need for modernity and the need to preserve the essence of our societal values carried by "YA".
