Agricultural development will be more successful if the different actors in agricultural knowledge system (AKS) share their knowledge and stimulate each other to develop new ideas about the direction in which agriculture should develop, and on the way this development can be achieved. However, the main actors are education and training, research, extension, private sector, farmer and their organizations, information and communication services, input supply etc. Therefore, it is necessary to study their interaction, and also how they complement one another needs to be clearly understood and promoted. Despite such, there is a lack of a national AKS policy and strategies plan. Nepal has not been able to explore, manage and utilize local, regional and global knowledge resources due to limited links between theory, practice and policy. Therefore, this situation motivates me to study the overall AKS of Nepal. In general, this study provides valuable input regarding the agricultural knowledge system of the country.
