In the story The Amazing Eyes of Penelope Pine, we get to follow along with Penelope and see just how her dream comes true. Jane Lucey was born and raised in Queens, New York, and although she has moved around a bit, she is still a Long Island, New York, resident. She grew up in a household where there was always reading material, whether books, magazines, or the two daily newspapers that her parents had delivered. Her parents certainly passed along their love of reading and learning to her. Jane became a teacher, then a school librarian, and was so happy to pass along her love of reading to her students. She has been married for more than 50 years to a wonderful man who has been very supportive of her creative endeavors. Jane has been blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren who are the absolute light of her life! Jane is amazed by the way children grow and learn, and she hopes this book encourages their curiosity for the world around them.
