This research aimed to study the Antidiabetic and Hypolipidaemic effects of the aqueous and methanolic extracts of Cicer arientinum, Cinnanomum verum and Citrus aurantifolin in types I and II induced diabetes in Albino rats. The glucose tolerance model was followed for determination of glucose level (simultaneously with cholesterol and triglycerides). The result was compared to that of the control and the reference drugs Insulin and Glibenclamide . The hypoglycaemic effect of the three plants was more significant than that of the reference drugs. Furthermore, a complete toxicological study was performed based on the effect of these plants on the Complete Blood Count, Liver Functions, Kidney Functions as well as half the Lethal Dose. All the three plants revealed complete safety. Then the Human Equivalent Dose (HED) was calculated and encapsulated into gelatin capsules as a suitable pharmaceutical dosage form for future usage by diabetic patients. These capsules were awarded threedifferent patents. An ethical clearance was also obtained from the Ministry of Health for a clinical trial of these Antidiabetic plant capsules in diabetic patients (as a Post Doctorate Research).
