The aim of this publication is the verification of the effect of three different methods of hypoxic preparation and subsequently to assess the rate of acclimatization and reacclimatization on the basis of subjective feelings and measuring of morning resting heart rate in a group of long-distance athletes. The main aim is to optimalize mesocycle immediate preparation for competition for the representatives of the Slovak Republic in race walking. On the basis of this knowledge and assessment of subjective feelings and measuring morning resting heart rate we were optimize our best female racewalker and our best male racewalker mesocycle of immediate preparation for competition. For all three methods of hypoxic preparation were reported positive effects in terms of percentage increase of monitored parameters. Research has shown that athletes are able to train at a higher intensity after only four days of hypoxic training at higher altitude. While in phase reacclimatization are provedsuitable days for racing 1st to 2nd day after hypoxic preparation than followed several days' crisis and re- improvement occurs after 10 days.
