Autorenporträt
Stephen Cremé is a physician in McKinney, Texas, who has been playing chess from a very young age with his father and two brothers. He has been fortunate enough also to learn from a friend who was ranked as an International Master (IM) while growing up. Dr. Cremé even had the opportunity to play the reigning world champion, Gary Kasparov, in an exhibition game. However, his philosophy is that chess is best enjoyed as a pastime game, fun for all ages and skill levels. He has been teaching the basics of chess to children at homeschool co-operatives in Texas for many years, and has been amazed at how quickly the kids can understand the game despite how complex it seems at the onset. This book is a culmination of the years of teaching chess and the lessons that have worked best.
