Autorenporträt
Mietek Weintraub is a former professor of German and Russian at Purdue University and a former professor of Russian at the University of Kentucky. As an adolescent, he was confined with his family in Poland's Lodz Ghetto before being transported to Auschwitz in 1944, where he stayed until the camp's liberation by the U.S. army. He lives in the Chicago area.
