J Constantine loses his leg in a freak ballet accident and with the compensation he builds a hotel and staffs it with his out-of-work performer mates. They have no idea what they're doing but it's a job so they're doing it anyway. Ballerinas as cleaners, opera singers masquerading as waiters, an eighty-piece orchestra tending the gardens and throw in a French magician, J's band of misfits are doing their best with what they've got - raw talent. When a plane carrying the a-list cast and crew of a new production crashes into a mountain, J realises his team has a chance of performing again. The producer of the show however, has other ideas, her cast were global stars not a bunch of out work actors. Can J win her over with his crazy idea? If he does, can the hotel keep running while the staff are in the theatre? Will J cope with not being able to dance? Who's coming to the rescue? Will this all come together? This book is a study in mayhem and magic, of learning on the run and finding a reason for getting up each morning. It's about friendships and love, it's about hospitality, taking care of each other and building a community around a common theme. It is also about performance and the love for theatre and everything that entails.

Autorenporträt
I don't remember learning how to read. It seems as though I picked up a book and the contents simply came to life for me. I was the child in the corner with her head in a book and her imagination running wild. I am now the adult doing the same.I was raised in Darwin, Australia in a funny and loving family - one which allowed us to be individuals and think for ourselves. By the time I was 12 I had started a school newspaper, opened a school restaurant and directed my first play. Curiosity has been my guiding light and has led me down many paths, sparking my imagination and creativity and gifting me with the exploration of what the world has to offer. Through this I have been a business owner, chef, teacher, actor, singer, festival director, theatre producer, magazine editor, publisher and writer.I know how to cook a mean paella, love graphic design and most of all, I love words. Words are wonderful and stringing them together, can make for incredible magic. They transport us to other places, scare us, entice us, excite us, play with our emotions. This is why I write - to create stories and share ideas, to bring words to life and hopefully make people happy with what I do.Things I like to write about - fiction, children's stories, non-fiction, short stories, food and cookbooks.
