Is there a reason for man's existence in the world? Isn't existence empty of meaning? Is meaning an indispensable element in the act of living? How can we survive meaninglessness? This series of questions would sum up this work as eloquently as possible. Existence is questioned in order to grasp its meaning; and this questioning plunges the reader into the heart of the debates that confront the pessimists, the optimists and the preachers of hope. It is then asserted that as soon as one opposes hope, the question of suicide becomes pressing and the art of surviving the nonsense of paramount urgency. Camusian logic is used here to imagine a happy but meaningless existence. Entering a second perspective, this reflection analyses the Nietzschean superman and transhumanism under the prism of a battle against nonsense. Crossed views are then cast on these anthropological projects in order to grasp their content and question their capacity to overcome nonsense.
