Produktbeschreibung
This book seeks to reconcile the seemingly unrelated worlds of artistic creation and project management. Projects are increasingly dominating the landscape of organised work and often associated with fields such as engineering, construction and business however projects are simply unique, transient endeavours to bring about change for sustained value. In an increasingly commercial world, we are also seeing increasing pressure on artists to meet the demands of broader stakeholder sets which risks the dilution of vision and intention in the compromise for funding and support. In this context, we explore if project management could be the secret to protecting artistic integrity within the commercial age. Using interviews with practising artists and a systematic review through literature pertaining to both the fields of creativity and project management this book argues for a tailored life cycle specific to artistic projects and explores the unique challenges in straddling the defiant world of creative expression and the notorious process-focused work of project management.
