Paul Cheung is a Professor (Practice) at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. He returned to Singapore in January 2013 after serving for 9 years as the Director of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (2004-2012). Since April 1, 2020, he serves as the Director of the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI). Xie Taojun is a Senior Research Fellow and Assistant Director (Research) at the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI), Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Nanyang Technological University. At ACI, Taojun oversees the cost of living indices for expatriates and ordinary residents. His research interests are in the economic implications of the digital economy, focussing on small open economies and emerging markets' contexts.
