Chasu is a Bantu language spoken in North Eastern Tanzania a few kilometers from Mt. Kilimanjaro the world's tallest independent standing mountain. Among the issues in consideration in this book are vowel distribution, vowel sequence and processes, consonant distribution, and a take on the existing viewpoints on prenasal consonants in Bantu languages focusing on these consonants in Chasu. This is the first time in the history of the language that an in-depth study of the language's sound system has been conducted.
