Autorenporträt
Rick Jemmett's clinical work as a physical therapist at Maritime Physiotherapy involves the diagnosis and treatment of people with various forms of neuromusculoskeletal pathology, including sport-related conditions and injuries. His primary area of clinical interest is the rehabilitation and prevention of spinal and shoulder instability. Rick is a guest lecturer and clinical instructor with the Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He has also lectured and taught courses for physiotherapists, physicians, kinesiologists and physiotherapy assistants across Canada and the United States through the Atlantic Manual Therapy Institute. Rick's research interests involve the anatomical and motor control aspects of spinal stability in both healthy and back-injured people. Recently his research work has been published in journals such as 'Manual Therapy' and the 'British Journal of Sports Medicine'. As a strength and conditioning consultant, Rick works with athletes, both recreational and competitive, developing their sport specific conditioning programs. Athletes from a wide variety of sports including running, paddling, triathlon, rugby, hockey, football, basketball, baseball and soccer have sought him out for advice regarding effective and up-to-date training.
