Lisa has had 25 years of experience cooking for her husband and three children who are all living proof of the recipes in this book (this is more than any degree surely). After reaching the much revered middle-aged milestone (you know the part where you look back on your life and think about all the things you were going to do but just never got round to), I was reminded of my ambition to write my own book. And, like most good ideas, it came from the front bar at the local footy club after a few gin and tonics. Around the same time, our eldest son was preparing to 'leave the nest' and, I felt duty bound to equip him with the information to still be able to enjoy the comforts of his mother's cooking in his own home. After all I didn't want him to wither and die from starvation when he left!
