Elena Zubkova ist habilitierte Historikerin und derzeit Leiterin des Zentrums für Sozialgeschichte Russlands am Institut für Russische Geschichte in Moskau.

Olaf Mertelsmann (born 1969) is Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Tartu, Estonia. He holds a PhD from the University of Hamburg and has taught in Hamburg, Novosibirsk and Tartu. Currently he works on a monograph about the Sovietization of Estonian society.
