RACHEL WATKYN A natural entrepreneur, Rachel Watkyn is Managing Director of The Tiny Box Company which started in her bedroom in 2007 as a solution to the lack of sustainable and ethically sourced packaging available to small businesses. Tiny Box is now the UK's largest online gift packaging e-commerce company. The resilience Rachel developed during a traumatic childhood prepared her for business and helped her overcome difficulties including multiple bouts of cancer, fire, flooding, an IT hack, and Covid-19. Winning investment from two Dragons on the BBC's Dragon's Den, Rachel has since gone on to become the show's most successful female entrepreneur to date and regularly comments on women's entrepreneurship, women's leadership, green business practices and sustainability. She has been featured on BBC radio, The Daily Mail, The Times Newspaper, as well as multiple business and trade magazines and. She is the winner of the 2020 NatWest Everywoman Award and the 2020 Rural Business Award. Most recently, Rachel has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2024 Honours list for her outstanding contributions to Sustainability, Ethical Business Growth, and Exports. CLAIRE HORNBY Also a natural entrepreneur, Claire Hornby is a partner in a pioneering 'Pick Your Own' flower business in Norfolk. Initially a vision that Claire had for making people happy by surrounding themselves with beautiful nature, this now thriving social enterprise is undergoing further expansion. She runs the business with her daughters and has been featured in several local newspapers, and national as well as local radio stations. Claire has largely overcome her childhood trauma (but feels this is still a work in progress) and has gone on to have four children of her own and is now a proud grandparent of five! Despite leaving school with no qualifications due to the abuse at home, Claire raised her young family single-handedly, working as a gardener to feed them, all whilst getting a degree in history from the University of East Anglia. Claire is now a locally renowned expert in gardening, wilding, and growing organic vegetables and flowers. Her ambitions are to create a much larger social enterprise teaching flower growing, vegetable growing and general gardening skills, in a safe space for people with mental health issues or trauma, where they can learn new techniques and work at one with nature.
