The Beast in My Head first time author, Sonia Bitca, is a cook with the Royal Canadian Navy and a self-professed lover of horses. While the Navy has always satisfied her passion for travel, Sonia has taken every opportunity she can to spend time riding and caring for horses. Horses in fact, like her family and friends, were a great source of comfort for her when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour and her life drastically changed. Now recovered from her illness, Sonia, lives in Quebec City with her partner, Mike, and spends every weekend on a nearby farm and ranch volunteering her time to help out with the respective owners' array of horses.
