F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) var einn merkasti rithöfundur Bandaríkjanna á 20. öld. Hann er þekktastur fyrir skáldsögu sína The Great Gatsby og fangar óhóf og vonbrigðum djassaldarinnar í verkum sínum. Snilldar prósar hans, skarpar félagslegar athugasemdir og könnun á ameríska draumnum hafa gert hann að afgerandi rödd í bandarískum bókmenntum.
