A sample of proverbs from African and mainly Congolese languages offers us a somewhat representative picture of what a woman is according to the African. Proverbs reveal the wisdom of people. Through proverbs, society sometimes and often finds, without clashes, the solution to the questions of the community where modern justice sometimes has trouble getting by. Character thus remains the main thermometer for measuring the degree of respectability, beauty or admiration of a good woman according to African proverbs. Character is the sum of qualities expected of a model woman. Proverbs are worth for the ancestral culture what verses and psalms represent for the Bible or the Koran. A woman must be honoured, she must be respected because a woman is our daughter, our sister, our aunt, our wife and our mother. Let women trust women.
