Rebecca Caudill (1899-1985) was the author of more than twenty books for children, including The Best-Loved Doll and A Certain Small Shepherd. Ms. Caudill's contributions to children's literature continue to be honored each year with the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award.
