Perhaps the most interesting stories are in Ezekiel and Hosea. Ezekiel has two wives, one a gentile slave lost to him in his youth and rediscovered after his first wife's death. Hosea of course has Gomer, the ever unfaithful wife he loves deeply. There are some surprises, though: Jonah's whale is a female one.

Hadassah Alderson is a member of Hebrew Congregation. Hadassah has a BA in history at Friends University (Wichita, Kansas). Hadassah spent one year at Claremont Graduate University in California studying philosophy. Austin Macauley published her book of poems, The Bible According to Eve, about the women of the Hebrew Bible. It is now out on Amazon.com an Barnes & Noble.com.
