No matter who you are, even if you are not a part of the norm, you can still achieve your goals and dreams if you continue to persevere in life. You know we're all different, we have our own unique qualities, and in life must face many challenges. But, if we do not lose hope, and fight through our struggles, we can succeed. The Biggest Ice Cream Cone follows a group of friends as they strike out in search of their perfect match. Each ice cream cone is unique and hopes to be selected by a kid who loves their flavor the most above all others. Big Dipper has many flavors, but he's so big, he fears he'll never find a child large enough to want him for their very own. He grows lonely and forlorn as each of his friends is chosen on their way to the fair. He forges ahead to the fair where maybe something magical will happen. About the Author Darla Merrill is a third-grade math and science teacher who has made it her life's passion to educate and support children in their learning. She is an advocate for literacy and founded Literacy House Corporation, which focuses on helping children and young adults who struggle with reading. She has worked with children and young adults for about thirty years and has dedicated many of her hours to mentoring and tutoring. Merrill loves outdoor activities, gardening, long drives to the countryside, watching movies, cooking, entertaining guests, sports, and spending time with family. Merrill believes that diversity is a good thing, and we should respect each other for our differences, but embrace what we have in common, which is being human. She also feels that senior citizens should be honored for their sacrifices and the country many ofthem have shaped and built.
