Captain Peter J. Bergeron, USCG (ret) has over 29 years of executive level leadership experience at the highest levels of government, military service, and business including the White House, the Chief of Naval Operations, and the Commandant of the Coast Guard. He is a recognized leader in the fields of maritime safety, security, operations, and continuity of government/business operations. He is currently the Director of Safety and Security for the Canaveral Port Authority.Captain Bergeron retired from the Coast Guard after 26 years of exceptional service including 4 tours as a Cutter Commanding Officer, a 3 year assignment to the White House Military Office working for the President, and tours working directly for the Chief of Naval Operations, and the Commandant of the Coast Guard. His final tour was the Chief of Operations for the First Coast Guard District providing oversight of Search and Rescue, Incident Management, Preparedness, Law Enforcement, and intelligence efforts in 8 state regions from the Canadian border to New Jersey involving over 2,000 miles of coastline and 12,000 active duty, reserves, and auxiliary personnel.) He is also a trained intelligence officer with extensive experience operating throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Eastern Pacific.He was a Fellow at the Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Study Group in 2006.He is a 1983 graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy with a BS in Government. He holds a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College (1992), and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2002. Captain Bergeron now lives and writes in Palm Bay, Florida with his wife Debbie, two dogs, Bob, and Brady, and the cat Bill. He is currently working on the second novel in the Black and White Club series: "Holy Ship."
