He was one of several preachers from this denomination who agitated for a black nationalism and a social and kristensyn which highlighted African Americans' role in history. In 1919 he published the book The Black Man, The Father Of Civilization, Proven By Biblical History. He wrote other pamphlets and charged in November 1913 an advertisement in The Chicago Defender with a picture of Jesus as a black man. Webb's intention was to "show love for their race" and "show that the Bible is all about black." Webb later became one of Marcus Garvey employees Universal Negro Improvement Association.
