The Bloodwood Society is a heart-pounding dystopian adventure for fans of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Ender's Game by Orson Scott, and Chosen by Shade Owens. When 17-year-old Everly Dahl is recruited by the rebellion, she's offered the chance to fight back against the tyrannical force that destroyed her family. The rebels are humanity's last hope for freedom, but to join their ranks and become a part of the Bloodwood Society, Everly has to pass their deadly trials first. The rebels make Everly a deal; if she survives until the Blood Moon, they'll help to undo the tragic events that haunt Everly's past. But can the infamous underground society be trusted? The deeper she goes into their strange and dangerous world, the closer Everly gets to the truth-about the dark and twisted roots of the rebellion, and the fate of the only family she has left. Set in the not-so-distant future, this science fiction / fantasy hybrid explores themes of resistance, love, sisterhood, and sacrifice. Fast-paced, exhilarating, and utterly unputdownable, The Bloodwood Society is about shifting alliances, impossible choices, and the parts of ourselves we sacrifice in the fight for a future worth saving.

Autorenporträt
Ainsley Doty is a lover of words, travel, and strawberry rhubarb pie. She has a blackbelt in karate and is no stranger to a mechanical bull. Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Ainsley declared herself a writer at the age of seven and has many wonderful spiral-bound notebooks to prove it. A passion for words carried her through high school and university, and back to high school again, this time as an English teacher. When she grew tired of dissecting Romeo and Juliet in the Prairies, Ainsley moved to the Maritimes, where she ate seafood, toured pubs, and pumped out a book-length Thesis on Indigenous theatre. Still hopelessly in love with the written word, Ainsley moved to the Big Smoke for an internship at a hoity-toity arts and culture magazine. She fell in love with publishing and never really left. Ainsley lives with her ridiculously handsome husband, their two courageous kids, and a golden retriever named Nikita in an old house on the bluffs. They spend their days searching for mushrooms, snail shells, and other earthly treasures. The Bloodwood Society is Ainsley Doty's first novel. But certainly not her last.
