A gay teacher is murdered at an exclusive boys' school in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney. His death exposes the rampant homophobia and sexist attitudes of the 1980's. The few women teachers bear the brunt of the gossip which swirls around the school and tension mounts as the finger pointing increases. Jealousy and prejudice are just two of the many reactions triggered by the murder of Bentley Shute. Was his death caused because of his popularity or for being gay? Or was it linked to his love of gossip?
