Sheila Alexander was a mid-century poet and novelist who lived in Minnesota for most of her life. Her first novel, "Walk with a Separate Pride" was published in 1947 and her poetry won awards in midwestern journals. Nobel Laureate in Literature Sinclair Lewis praised her work as "original" and "full of power."
