SUMMARYWith the worrying situation of antibacterial resistance, a study was carried out on pharmacies open to the public in the city of Bukavu, in order to identify the factors contributing to the emergence of antibacterial resistance. Our study aims to describe and analyze the management of medicines and medical consumables in pharmaceutical dispensaries open to the public in the Ibanda health zone, in order to determine the factors that would negatively influence the dispensation of care and service within the structures, and to propose recommendations. As part of the national policy to improve the efficiency and viability of health facilities, several efforts are being made, but the results remain mixed. The case of pharmaceutical dispensaries open to the public in the Ibanda health zone is marked by the poor delivery of health services in these facilities. Documentary analysis, observation and interviews with pharmaceutical service providers enabled us to determine the effectiveness and viability, and to describe the process of managing medicines and consumables.
