Sumia Sukkar is a young author of Syrian-Algerian origin. THE BOY FROM ALEPPO WHO PAINTED THE WAR (Eyewear Publishing, 2014) is her debut novel, drawing on first hand experiences of family members and friends living in Syria. She has a BA (Honors) in Creative Writing from Kingston University.
