This book addresses the general values and attitudes of industrial culture and consumer society, based on the process of production, consumption and disposal of packaging. The aim is to highlight market and educational situations related to the area of design and the brand of socio-environmental responsibility. The problem arises from the need to improve and expand social and environmental responsibility in the community and also from evidence that the production, use and disposal of packaging puts the environment and society at risk. This book points to self-control as part of the solution to irresponsible consumption. However, it considers that this requires a broad formal and informal educational process, in order to bring about changes in the consumer public's thinking, attitudes and behavior.
