Catherine Quillman has been a freelance arts journalist since 1985 and was a staff writer at the Philadelphia Inquirer from 1990 until 2007. She has published numerous news features and magazine stories about the historic Brandywine Valley in Pennsylvania. She is also the author of seven other books about the region's history and artistic culture. She is a board member of the Chadds Ford Historical Society and the West Chester Historical Commission. As a longtime writer of history, she looks forward to The United States Semiquincentennial, better known as the 250th anniversary of the 1776 United States Declaration of Independence.
