This study is a quantitative and qualitative
analysis of the performance of the Brazilian shoe
industry in international markets. The success of
this Latin America giant with regards to the shoe
industry is a reality and its potential has been
felt all around the globe. However, competition is
enormous and Chinese producers are also pulverized
in the international market. The central questions
of this study are about how Brazilian shoe exporters
perceive the Chinese competition in their main
target markets and about their perceptions of
advantages (or disadvantages) in international
markets with regards to several marketing
activities. Pedro Kayser aims with his work to
understand how successful Brazilian shoes are in
international markets, how the Chinese competition
is perceived, and what the main reasons are behind
the success of this well developed industrial
segment of the Brazilian economy.
Autorenporträt
Brazilian, from Belo Horizonte, Pedro Kayser is Bachelor and
Master of Arts in International Affairs. This piece of work is
the thesis presented at the end of his Master course at Ohio
University, in USA. He works as an executive of a large
Brazilian industry in the area of International Business.
