This book is designed to deepen our experience of the Eucharist, beginning with the central thought of Saint Irenaeus of Lyons that, "Our way of thinking is attuned to the Eucharist; and the Eucharist, in turn, confirms our way of thinking". The introductory chapter reflects on the reality of our Eucharistic imagination -- our way of thinking that links us to the mind of Christ, the mind of the Church and to each of us in the body of Christ, Early chapters examine the Eucharist as promoted in the New Testament by Paul and John. Later chapters discuss the characteristics of the Eucharist and a Eucharistic people: sacrifice, communion, judgment, praise, and love. Finally, the last chapter considers the Eucharist as a manifestation of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
