For several decades, Adam Forest has been collecting stories from actual classes he has taught. As a Taekwondo instructor, Master Forest believed-and still believes-that the most important skills he could instill in his students were respect and discipline. In his more than 30 years of teaching Taekwondo, Master Forest watched countless children grow up. He received feedback from many grateful students, who thanked him for lessons well taught.As an instructor, he could see the real-world benefits of focusing on the mental side of Taekwondo paying off. The results were gratifying. Many students became leaders in the classroom, and we noticed a significant uptick in grade-point average at school.Master Forest relied on the oldest method of teaching in his Taekwondo class: storytelling. Using storytelling as a means of teaching lessons has been proven to increase the retention of information and lead to better understanding.
