A young coffee shop barista solves mysteries using her paranormal abilities. A collection of science fiction short stories. CHARACTERS: Samantha Wilson, a single woman in her twenties, always brews something unusual and often involves her friends in her adventures. Georgina Philips is a field news reporter for a local television channel. She interned in Atlanta before accepting a job doing noon and afternoon reports. Her goal is to one day be a studio anchor. Detective Ronald Johnson is a seasoned police department veteran. Now in his late 40s, he is a hardened investigator. Though open-minded about Samantha's paranormal abilities, he remains discreet, keeping his "secret resource" hidden from his superiors. He also maintains a confidential professional relationship with Georgiana, frequently serving as her trusted information source. Marge Miller manages the Brown Bean Coffee Shoppe, which is the setting for most of the adventures. She is in her late forties and is the consummate organizer, but she is not above cleaning tables. David Dillon is a college student who works part-time in the mornings and attends college classes in the afternoon. He is tall and athletic, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He lives in an apartment above the coffee shop. Sandra Smith works part-time in the afternoon. She is a single mother in her thirties supporting twin teens. The Brown Bean is one of her two jobs. SETTING: The Brown Bean Coffee Shoppe serves as the setting for most of the adventures. The high ceilings, a signature of the 1940s architecture, are covered in intricate metal plates that glint softly under the warm lights of the heavy iron paddle fans. A rich aroma of freshly ground coffee beans fills the air, mingled with the sweet scent of baked goods under glass domes on the counter.

Autorenporträt
Tim Trott grew up reading the Hardy Boys series (the branch library finally just gave him their entire collection), along with such authors as Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asimov, and exploring works by Aldous Huxley and Bertrand Russell. Tim studied broadcasting and media at St. Petersburg College in the late 60s while working in local television and radio. After that, he began writing for radio newscasts and commercials. Fast-forward past a career in broadcasting, security contracting, and web design and hosting, he published the first of several non-fiction titles before being challenged by the local writer's group in Daytona, Florida, to try writing fiction. Tim always loves a challenge. Although he has developed his own take on science fiction and the paranormal, he is influenced by authors William G. Collins and Veronica Helen Hart. Author TimTrott's work reflects modern sensibilities and current scientific understanding in his speculative fiction. His focus is more explicitly on the intersection of scientific concepts and paranormal phenomena.
