Neuroanatomy is considered one of the most complex subjects in the field of anatomy. The reliable literature for students is limited to classical anatomical books, many of them re-editions of publications from the previous century, with black-and-white illustrations or computer-generated images. In this sense, the literature lacks a neuroanatomical atlas depicting the brain's surface anatomy and intrinsic anatomy with actual anatomical preparations.
This illustrated and concise book is designed to fill the gap by providing high-quality photographs of actual anatomical preparations of the entire central nervous system. It is organized into eight chapters and presents high-definition photographs of thoroughly labeled anatomical preparations.
The Cartographic Atlas of the Brain is intended to benefit medical students, residents and practitioners of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroanatomy, Radiology, Neurobiology and other branches of the Neurosciences.

He performed a fellowship in Skull Base Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Neurological Science, under the guidance of Prof. Ossama Al-Mefty, between 2002-2004. Working in the Microneurosurgical and Skull Base laboratory, he learned under the guidance of Prof. M Gazi Yasargil and Dr. Ugur Ture the techniques of dissections of the brain and developed a special interest in the intrinsic anatomy of the brain and its application in the treatment of primary tumors of the brain. Since then, his academic career has involved teaching courses around the world and serving as visiting professor at several world-renowned academic institutions including the University of Saint Louis, University of Sao Paulo, University of Zurich, University of Arkansasfor Medical Sciences, University of Strasbourg, University of Wien, University of Shanghai Fuan, University of Taipei, Beijing International Neurosciences Institute, Central Hospital of Dahkha-Banglades, Federal Center of Neurosurgery-Tyumen, Siberia, Russia, Federal Center of Neurosurgery - NovoSiberski, Siberia, Russia, Yedetepe University-Istanbul, Turkey, and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kadri's PhD thesis focused on surgical approaches to the temporal lobe, exploring the anatomical aspects of the white matter fibers involved in the surgical procedure. He has published several scientific articles on the field of skull base surgery, neuro-oncology, brain anatomy, white matter anatomy, epilepsy surgery, and neurovascular surgery. Dr. Kadri is currently transitioning positions from research fellow of Skull Base Surgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital of the Harvard School of Medicine, in Boston - USA, to associate neurosurgeon of the Hospital dos Trabalhadores,in Curitiba, Brasil.
