Gillian Mears has been long loved for her novels and short stories, including the 2012 multi - award - winning novel for adults Foal's Bread. She wrote The Cat with the Coloured Tail while camped in the South Australian mallee, in her converted ambo camper, Ant and Bee. She is presently working on a new novel and a second book for children.
