The purpose of this study was to explore the causes and consequences of students drop-out from secondary schools in Debub Aari Woreda and assess the relationship between identified problems and drop-out. The research was designed to conduct a descriptive survey research design and the methodology employed was both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The target populations for this study were dropped out students from public secondary schools in 2014/15 and 2015/16 in Debub Aari Woreda. A purposive sampling technique was employed to select the secondary schools and Yamane's 1967 simplified formula was employed to calculate sample sizes. Accordingly, the 204 sample size was determined. From this sample size, 189 were proposed to fill questionnaires and 15 of them were supposed to respond to interview questions. Data obtained through questionnaires were analyzed using statistical tools such as frequency, percentage, mean, and rank. The findings of the study revealed that the main causes for student dropout from secondary school were economic constraints followed by a distance of schools from home to school.
