Autorenporträt
Dr. Lonnie Moore with his three siblings was reared by missionaries, Evertie and Joyce Moore, in America's poorest county of Appalachia. The experiences of the simple lifestyle coupled with learning ministry in the mountain church, would benefit him far more than the training in the colleges he attended. He began teaching the adult Sunday School class at age 13, and with his siblings learned to sing and play the piano, which Dr. Moore has become widely known throughout the country. In 1975, he married his high school sweetheart, Gail. God has blessed that union with four beautiful daughters, each blessed with an angelic voice and all married to husbands in the ministry and 12 wonderful grandchildren. After graduation from Tennessee Temple University, Dr. Moore worked two years alongside his father in the mountain mission. While there, he taught 2 years at Kentucky Mountain Baptist College. In 1983, he moved his family to Nicholasville, KY where he began in a storefront, the Tabernacle Baptist Church where presently, he still pastors. Dr. Moore has authored a variety of books for discipleship, family, vacation Bible school programs, and a voice training program, "Singing Made Simple," a virtual online voice coach with curriculum. Dr. Moore's latest work is The Cavemen and Caves of the Bible. This work came as the Pandemic of 2020 shut down our country and isolated everyone in their homes. Church services were delegated to online viewing from home. Many described this time of mandated quarantines and isolations as, "Living in a cave!" Dr. Moore developed for his church, a series of messages (13) to encourage his congregation to cope with the feeling of isolation. Each Caveman and Cave mentioned in the Bible gives life lessons to overcome depression, hopelessness, despair, anxiety, and confusion. Sometimes in Bible times, cave dwelling was necessary but not one was permanent. These lessons will encourage you and your congregation to be victorious and get out of the cave. The series is excellent for a quarterly Sunday School series or Bible study.
