Dr Jeni Harden is Director of Education of the Usher Institute and Director of Quality (Medical Education) at Edinburgh Medical School, and co-Chair of BeSST (Behavioural and Social Sciences Teaching in Medicine). As a social scientist with extensive practical experience as a teacher of medical students at the University of Edinburgh and of social science students at Edinburgh Napier University, she brings a unique perspective to the text and will enrich it with practical examples of how students can be engaged as partners in the learning programme and associated problems tackled.
