The aim of this paper is to analyse the clashes between Generals Gustavo Leigh and Augusto Pinochet, offering a new perspective on the conflicts between the characters. These conflicts were part of the confrontation between different authoritarian political projects that disputed their realisation during the dictatorial government in Chile, from the moment it was established in 1973 until 1978. As these projects were part of a political dispute, they clashed in the most diverse sectors of society. Restorers and Re-founders, which included both civilians and military personnel, were led by Generals Leigh and Pinochet respectively. The main confrontation between the groups took place in the Ortúzar Commission, because the new political constitution would be responsible for shaping the authoritarian project that won the contest.
