The Christian Muslim Relation Programme in Rwanda (CMRPR) has contributed in Christian-Muslim relationship and the national reconstruction after the 1994 genocide in Rwanda by helping Christians and Muslims to overcome their historical suspicion for mutual discovering and respect, collaboration and cooperation in unity reconstruction and peace building process among Rwandan citizens. The CMRPR was engaged especially in organizing the seminars on the themes related to the Rwandan politics and society after the 1994 genocide in which Christians and Muslims have the same interests. The gathering of Christians and Muslims in Rwanda apart from the training on social and political aspects, enabled them to work towards discovering one another and to dispel despair, fear and suspicion characterized their historical coexistence. The religious leaders played a key role in the implementation of the Programme related especially to the participation in the organized activities and the mobilization of the community members for the CMRPR activities.
