Tras sus estudios primarios, secundarios y universitarios, Gervais NZOA siguió una larga formación en el Instituto Panafricano para el Desarrollo, ciclo Ejecutivo de Desarrollo Técnico. Es miembro experto del Foro Permanente para las Cuestiones Indígenas de las Naciones Unidas (UNPFII). Autor de varios trabajos de investigación y publicaciones.
