Autorenporträt
William K. Leutz was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 30, 1942. He attended elementary and high school in Toledo's old west end, and graduated from the University of Toledo in June of 1965 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. His career in engineering management spanned 40 years, with 15 years in International Operations, including a decade of living in Norway. Since retiring in 2004, Leutz has served as a Docent at the Nature Conservancy's Tall Grass Prairie Preserve and the Thomas Gilcrease Museum of American History and Art. He has also been active in the Tulsa chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. After the passing of his wife, Joyce Armstrong-Leutz, he returned to his family's summer home on Clark Lake in Michigan, where he now resides. Leutz has previously published The Clams Are Still Baking: Memories of Clark Lake, a collection of five generations' worth of family stories and experiences in that area. Although writing poetry for nearly 40 years, this is his first published poetry book.
