Inevitably of course, Xavier sees the truth of the existence of the humans and how they themselves, as a group, reflect that same existence in their own ways. Leading to the climax (the death of Steve ) which will turn him to think about what life is really about and where the truth of that life lay. Returning him to the Bogong High Plains to discover what life is really meant to achieve for him. Each chapter is a story of growth and adjustment toward knowledge and understanding of life in yourself.
