Katherine Collins was born in Vancouver as known as Arn Saba but transitioned, having identified as a transgender woman since 1993. In 1965 she attended the University of British Columbia on a creative writing scholarship, but devoted almost all her time to the campus paper, The Ubyssey. In 1977, she moved to Toronto, and began appearing on, and eventually producing, the CBC Radio program Morningside. In 1979, she wrote and produced a five-part radio documentary on CBC, The Continuous Art, exploring the cultural position of comics. It featured interviews with some of cartooning's greatest names. Neil the Horse ran in Canadian newspapers from 1975-1982 via the Great Lakes Publishing syndicate. It subsequently appeared in fifteen comic book issues from 1983-1988. At TCAF Collins will be inducted to the Canadian Cartooning Hall of Fame. Trina Robbins: Prominent in the sixties underground comix movement. Published many all-women anthologies including It Ain't Me Babe and written feminist books such as Women and the Comics.
