Gayle Paben is a retired elementary school teacher from Sarasota, Florida. As a teacher she wrote many poems and skits for her classes for performances. Gayle enjoys playing piano and performing in a bell choir. She loves to paint and to write children's books. She received two Silver medals from Florida Authors and Publishers Association for The Poetry of Animals, a book that teaches about the adaptations of animals. She recently won a Bronze medal from FAPA for her children's novel The Colors of the Sea. This book teaches about the joys and hazards of Florida living that a young girl discovers when she moves to Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida.
