The present research work was carried out in a private clinic in the city of San Lorenzo with the objective of comparing the healing process in terms of size and appearance in female dogs submitted to lateral ovarian hysterectomy with the use of ozone applied sub dermally on the left side versus conventional healing on the right side. Ten apparently healthy female dogs between 1 and 3 years of age, apparently healthy without distinction of breed, were selected for routine ovarian hysterectomy; lateral laparotomy was used for the surgery; wound healing on the right side was conventional while the left side was treated with sub dermal ozone on days 0, 3 and 5 post-surgery. The wounds were evaluated for size and appearance at days 5 and 10 postoperatively. The results showed that there were astadistically significant differences (p<0.05) in wound size and appearance.
